Four American underground rap artists are touring Australia for the first time, on a run assembled without an agency, a label or an established promoter. The tour is presented by SMNKSMT Touring alongside Otheryards.
Announcing the run to his own audience on 17 August, Christ Dillinger told his followers these would be their first shows in the country ever, and that presales had already sold out. Three of the four dates still list their location as to be announced. People bought tickets to rooms that had not been named.
The undercards are being filled unusually. Rather than announce supports, the tour posted its lineup and asked the audience directly who should open in each city. That post drew 1,241 likes and 591 comments, and those suggestions are being worked through as the bills are finalised.

The Tasmanian date shares a bill with the Ballbassjohn Goodbye Aus Tour, the Melbourne artist's run of farewell shows before he moves overseas.

about otheryards
Otheryards documents underground music, fashion and art in Australia. The music made in side rooms, the clothes cut and stitched and worn before anyone calls it fashion, the events and late nights that keep a scene alive. It publishes interviews, film and a printed magazine, and works mostly on the process rather than the finished thing. The September dates are being filmed across all four cities, with a print issue to follow.
